Black Friday Sales
Has anyone here ever braved Black Friday? I haven't but my Sister is a such a high level strategist, that I believe the military would be interested in her skills (seriously, walkie talkies are involved).

In the interest of saving money, I am considering it and with so many websites posting the ads early it looks like there will be some pretty good deals.

Still you hear the horror stories, didn't someone get trampled/seriously injured a year or two ago?

I would love your input and any strategies you may have.
Thanks!

I hate the crowds and such that Black Friday brings. Usually I pick ONE store that has the majority of the things that I'm looking for. I don't like to have to travel all over town to find what I need. So I guess my strategy is that I only got to a few select places. I also try to show up very early and get in and out quickly so that I don't end up shopping in the picked over things.

Have fun!!!

If you go to stores early, you can get cheap things and where I am, the crowds aren't bad. It gets hot in the mall though because there's so many people. Go out and try black friday shopping one day, and if you don't like it you'll be sure it's not worth it.
My best friend is taking this to a whole new level. At this exact moment she is sitting in a Village Inn down the road with another friend. They are plotting their their shopping plan. They are just so serious about this Black Friday thing. My job is to go through the ads this morning and tell them if there is anything that I want them to pick up for me (I truly dislike Black Friday shopping). They actually determining their starting point so that they can hit the stores quickly and accurately. I'm just giggling because at this exact moment I am curled up in my chair surfing the web, smelling my coffee brewing, and watching the parade preps. :-D

Are you KIDDING me?? I generally go with a friend and we plan our attack, too. Which store has the things that are MOST LIKELY to be gone by the time we get there? That's the one we hit first. We wait in line and station people strategically at certain items in other stores. It's a fine art.

This year I only hit one store and was in and out in 25 minutes. Last year I hit 5 stores and was in line by 4:30am. I was done shopping by 7 and eating breakfast by 7:30am.

Good times. :)
