I have to say that I had never went to a TJ Maxx until recently. My closest location is in Chelsea and prior to visiting, I decided on the dollar amount and thought I would try seeing something that would look cute for an outfit. Upon entering, I was drawn to the denim and shocked to get two pairs for under $80 and an Ed Hardy lilac long t-shirt which has become something I love to wear and always travels with me when I am covering events and staying over in a city. I couldn't believe how much was here and how great the prices were. I decided that this would be my denim destination.

paigedenim.jpgVia TJ Maxx, I was able to purchase my first white and wide leg pair of jeans. I love how they fit perfectly and they look amazing with heels or my Grecian sandals. These were my first Paige Denim jeans and what a great way to try these out.

hudsonhudson.jpgI also saw that they had Hudson and knew I had to get a pair. After seeing their jeans and believing they would be an amazing fit, I was so happy that this proved to be true! I love that this pair is black (although this image doesn't show this) and that they are a straight leg which I haven't worn in a long time.

Now when I think about how expensive denim can be, it is a no brainer that I need to continue buying them here so that I can enjoy these designer brands and can save extra money for other things that are a must for me to purchase. This shopping trip included the Ed Hardy shirt that was under $50 and I also purchased a medicine ball for $10. I do believe this was a shopping success!

Do you have any tops in mind to wear with the jeans? I was curious to know what outfits you want to put together with them.
I see that the gals wearing these jeans are wearing sandals. What other shoe styles might look good with this style of jeans?

chelsea's my closest shop too!

i live on the UWS, so it's a bit of a trek, but maybe I'll run into you shopping one of these days!

Both are great questions. In terms of shoes. I love wearing Haviannas and then my Grecian ones. I also love wearing 3 inch heels with both of these and I can't wait until the fall when I wear the dark pair with boots. I love the shearling kind or even the stiletto heel. In terms of tops, the possibilities are endless. I have worn tunics, tanks, blouses. Both have been dressed up and down. With the wide leg white pants, I love to have a bloussy top and to totally go in a Boho direction and with the straight leg, I love a sleek look with these. I have to say that I am so hooked on denim here that it is absolutaly ridiculous to go anywhere else!
How about when the weather cools down and we're all wearing sweaters? Should we wear those with the straight leg jeans or can we get away with wearing sweaters with the wide leg style too?

Although it is a matter of preference, I feel that in the fall/winter, we need to have a balancing act in terms of proportion. If you're wearing a bulkier or long sweater then go with a straight leg or skinny jean. However, when you have a cropped or a closer cut sweater, you can wear it with wide legs because it creates a nicer look and gives the eye various angles to enjoy. I love a longer sweater with bulky jeans and then sticking them in my boots - it's a fun look and is very cozy.
