Okay, I have to admit that I shop the way most guys do--that is to say, I prefer to buy than shop. Normally, I know what I want, I go to the store, I buy it and I'm out again inside of 15 minutes.
But clothes shopping is an entirely different matter.
I like to look good, I admit it. Most of the time, I dress in jeans and a casual polo shirt or tee shirt, but truth be told, I wouldn't mind being better dressed. But new clothes are expensive, so I rationalize the 90's rocker look by saying 'who wants to be a slave to fashion"?
Well, TJ Maxx and Marshalls is changing my attitude. Really.
I went shopping today--I've been looking for a sport coat for quite some time. Something that wouldn't cost me $500 for a nice jacket. So I went to TJMaxx to see what they had.
Unfortunately, they didn't have any suit coats that I liked. But they DID have a bunch of nice shirts that will match that black sport coat when I find it. I'm not WAY into clothes, so I tend to buy name labels. Which are usually expensive, so I don't buy many clothes at all.
Today, though, I found 5 shirts and two ties for a total of $115. I got shirts by Calvin Klein, Geoffrey Beane, Pierre Cardin and Ralph Lauren...great shirts at great prices. I bought 7 really nice dress items for the price of TWO at another store.
So yeah, I'm a guy, and TJ Maxx and Marshalls are now encouraging me to admit...
I like shopping.
