Wow it's been awhile since I've blogged! I can't believe so much time has gone by. I have been traveling up a storm! Just in the past couple of weeks I've been to LA, London, Paris, and New York... My trips have been great- LA was all about shopping the market for Spring '09 trends... London and Paris was sample shopping for sweaters. Probably my favorite trip of the year. Paris is the most amazing city. Here are some pictures...

The Juniors buying team has been out in the market scooping up tons of great deals just in time for back-to-school and the transition into fall! Since we've been out buying like crazy, hopefully you all are starting to shop like crazy! Has anyone found any great gems recently in TJ's? I'd love to hear what you're liking out there... I mentioned a couple weeks ago that we were getting ready to ship a HUGE mall store-stock.... Well it's here! The goods just arrived in all strores today, you have got to check it out!! Crazy deals to be had on some amazing product! (I can't wait to get in and shop myself!)

So we've been out in the market looking for some exciting new trends for fall and back to school. I know it seems a bit early, since it isn't even July 4th yet... But before we all know it it will be time to shop for fall! The one big theme we're hearing about everywhere is LAYERING! Vests are going to be such a huge item. Constructed menswear vests, denim vests, and even knit and sweater vests are popping up throughout our market. They look so cool layered over a vintage tee with some skinny jeans. Another great trend we've seen is the vest layered over dresses. I can't wait to get some pics to post up for all to see!

Thanks for all the feedback on screen tees! They totally are so comfy and easy to wear... The hottest trend right now seems to be rock screens... I wore this cool Lynyrd Skynyrd vintage tee out this weekend and got tons of compliments!!!

I've got a question- what are you girls wearing as it gets warmer out? Short shorts, long jeans, bermudas, crops?? We've heard so much buzz out there about short-shorts (especially plaid), but I'd love to know what you all are really out there shopping for...

Spring is in full swing and the Junior department at TJ's is definitely a great destination for the newest trends- COLOR (yellows, oranges, pinks, turqs and greens), feminine woven tops with ruffles, eyelet and crochet details, patchwork and plaid short shorts and of course Skinny jeans! These are just a few of the trends we've been seeing out in the market and are delivering daily into the stores... I'm heading off to LA next week to scope out the market out there and hopefully see some new great trends for summer and back-to-school. I will be sure to keep you all posted when I return!

This is my first time "blogging" and I'm not exactly very tech-savvy, so please bear with me!! My name is Erin and I buy Juniors fashion apparel. I absolutely love my job... I frequently travel around the country (mostly to New York City and LA), and a few times a year I make trips overseas as well. Junior sportswear is such an exciting area to buy because fashion means everything to our customer. Trends change so quickly- what's hot today may be over tomorrow, so its extremely important that I am out in the market all the time!!
