Heidi, Shann, Tammy and everyone else, I simply want to wish all of you a fantastic holiday season, whatever you celebrate (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Solstices, Festivus...) and a loving, prosperous New Year and lot of fantastic TJX bargains!
These resin bracelets from scrimshaw artist Jessica Kagan Cushman retail for $125 or more at stores like Neiman Marcus & Anthropologie! And though they are a bit young for me, I think they would make a great x-mas gift for a fashionable younger friend. (I am still considering "Are you a good witch..." just because it cute!)
It's not at TJ Maxx, but the prices are almost as low and you can shop online. I felt compelled to let you all in on it because you just don't see 90% off everyday. You can either visit my lingerie blog or visit Figleaves (lots of maternity pieces available)
My name is Katie and I have lingerie coming out of my ears Not just any lingerie but the best new designers have to offer. I blog for Knickersblog's bargains page so we get samples or incredible deals, yesterday it was Simone Perele panties for $1 (rrp $40).
The problem is I need to get rid of some of it, but how? The only giveaways the site allows must come directly from the designer or boutique. I will, of course gift, some of it and I know this sounds horrible but I don't want to give it to thrift shops because some of the panties retail at over $100 each and I DO NOT bay.
Which brings me to my next and more important question: How much do you spend on lingerie?
I got an email from TJX with a vague reference to even greater deal can be found this Friday. I called my local store and was told nothing would be different, but they also didn't know anything about an email.
I love TJX, but I've never been out shopping on BF, it's enough to watch the news about the madness and worse still is this one shares a parking lot with Best Buy.
Has anybody heard anything about a TJX possible sale? Thanks
A Saks employee sold a jewelry set for $45,000 less than it should have been sold. The customer asks the price the SA told her $26,000 and the customer bought it, it should have been $71,000. Sak's called the buyer and told her about the mistake, words were exchanged and she said no. So they tried to do an unauthorized charge to her credit card...no good, so know they are suing her.
I'm on the fence on this only because I just had a retailer not budge on a mistake of $40 credit, a credit they would have issue if I had clicked the correct link. I know two wrongs don't make a right, but it bothers me that big retailers, if they don't have to budge won't.
Has anyone here ever braved Black Friday? I haven't but my Sister is a such a high level strategist, that I believe the military would be interested in her skills (seriously, walkie talkies are involved).
In the interest of saving money, I am considering it and with so many websites posting the ads early it looks like there will be some pretty good deals.
Still you hear the horror stories, didn't someone get trampled/seriously injured a year or two ago?
I would love your input and any strategies you may have. Thanks!
Thanks giving will be the usual turkey & cranberry chutney (spicy!). And I ordered my dry-aged rib roast so It should be perfect for Christmas. In between I'll be baking gifts like candied Nebraska black walnuts, cookies, fudge and sweet breads (either pumpkin or zucchini). I've got a few more ideas but more ideas are greatly appreciated.
Lancome make-up is 50% off, I saw a couple of bespoke hair dryers, Sugar Cosmetics -I Taste Like Sugar Mini Lip Gloss Set (reg $28) is $5 and they've taken 30% off perfumes like Marc Jacobs Daisy, Burberry, Lacoste and more.
Not that I need to shop more than I already do, but wouldn't be nice to have friends all over the country...heck all over the world, who love to shop as much as I do and would pick up stuff for me that isn't available where I live and I would do the same for them.
I mention this because I got an alert from TK Maxx (TJM for the UK) and they just got some lingerie from one of my favorite designers, but I don't know anyone in London.
Then I remember visiting a TJX Runway in Chicago w/ Judith Leiber bags (I was being good and walk away only to get back to Lincoln wishing I had picked it up...it was a steal!) It's rare when I don't think about that bag..
Or is it better, especially in these economic times, just to be grateful for the deals I find at my local TJX?
I love shopping clearance at TJM or anywhere really. But I just had quite the rude shock. I was about to buy a T3 hair dryer on clearance. I've was told by my hair dresser that tho' costly they're well worth it and will give salon looks at home. Faster and better and on clearance... I'm in!
Still $90 (reg $250) for a blow dryer in these economic times...hmmm. So I opened the box and someone had STOLEN the T3 and replaced it with an regular Vidal Sasson (retail $30).
If you are buying clearance (anywhere!) OPEN THE BOX. I can't imagine how I would have return this without the SA being sure I didn't keep the expensive dryer and returned a much cheaper one.
and I probably should return it, but I love the color. It's a raisin Francesco Biasia and yesterday was the last day of the 25% extra off clearance. Retail it's $300+, TJX price $170, TJX clearance price $90.
Yea or Nay on the bag?
also picked up 2 cashmere sweaters for my DH ($21 ea., perfect for winter)
What a crazy experience. Hot weather, great fishing (we landed 6 Dorado/Mahi Mahi, even better sushi (I know in Cabo?) and unbelievable views. And my packing was on the money... thanks to you all and TJM. Swimsuits, cover ups and shorts were my mainstays and my LaRok mini for diner on the beach and I mean on the beach at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica (such a great getaway for 2). You have to go to the website and see the pictures, it looks exactly like that and they are better photographers.
