When Life Has You Down...
When life has you down, what do you do to lift yourself back up? Some people take time to relax and read a book or watch a movie. Some people game on the PC. Some go shopping!

Live has me down a little right now. I've been sick for about two weeks now. I was getting better then relapsed. Turns out I've got bronchitis, borderline pneumonia. So I could use a little pick me up. What I like to do, sometimes, is do a little shopping. Nothing extravagant, just a little something for me. However, since I'm ill, going out in public when you could hack up a lung at any moment doesn't sound too fun. So I'll have to figure out something else.

What do you do when life has got you down, even a little bit? Do you have a favorite thing to do? I can always use suggestions so hit me with your best shot! :)

Happy Holidays!
We are already into November and Christmas is right around the corner. Normally I'd have most of my shopping done by now but with my husband out of work, the economy the way it is, my child with a broken leg and no insurance and an extended family that always gives way too much, how are we going to handle the holidays? Don't you just love when it all piles up?

My husband had a grand idea. He thought it would be nice if we sponsored a child for each couple in our family, in their name. What do you think? How are some of you going to handle the holidays with tight bank accounts? I'd love to hear some suggestions and ideas on what people are doing for gifts. Lay it on me!

Insert Witty Pun Here...
Here is a woman, Ms. Walsh, desperately in need of learning how to dress for her body type:

walsh_sd2190930_502.jpg

She tried to bring back tight rolled jeans. She tried to make harem pants look cool. Now Katie is trying out the stirrup pants craze that went of style when she was in junior high!

What Not To Wear - Candidates. . .
This first one isn't really a 'what not to wear', unless you count the pants/tights, whatever they are. Are stirrup pants trying to make a comeback?

Oh Justin! What were you thinking?

Kate Bosworth, showing her love of Chanel by dressing as a bottle top.

Jennifer Lopez, the diva of designers. What happened? And is that her triathlon suit she's wearing underneath that nightgown? That is a nightgown right? Poor Jen.

Heidi, Heidi, Heidi. . . There are just no words for your snake skin denim and your, your, top. . . I'm sure all the Project Runway designers are weeping!

And speaking of designers, here's someone who needs some help!

KatieHolmes.jpg

Is Katie trying to ressurect I Dream of Jeannie or making a statement in those harem pants about her marriage? :-D Poor Katie!

But lets not stop. . . Here's another lady who needs some fashion pointers!

Fashion Insensitive
I got to thinking today about fashion. And I was wondering, am I a fashion insensitive? I read a lot of the blogs and posts here with people popping off designers and fashion trends and here's little ole' me sitting here in my jeans and t-shirt. I think back to my last outing and I find that I simply can't tell who's in fashion out there. To me it's all beginning to look the same, with the exception of those who cling to the 80's. They are easy to spot. To me, jeans are jeans and pants are pants. I don't care who made them, as long as they fit right.

Sure, I notice when someone is wearing the wrong color for their skin tone but I never stop to think, "Is that the latest fashion?” Am I just insensitive to the whole fashion thing? And when I'm out and about, how do I look to others? Am I so totally out of fashion people notice? Or do I just blend in with the myriad of colors and textures like those around me?

How do you feel about your fashion sense? Are you up to date on all the latest trends? Do you notice when someone is wearing a designer top or carrying a designer handbag? Or are you a fashion insensitive too?

Colorado Fashion
Well my friends, I am off on another trip. This time it’s Colorado and a whole new realm of fashion. Last time I was there the fashion norm was hiking boots, t-shirts and shorts, along with backpacks and mountain bikes. Me, I’m taking jeans, t-shirts and tennis shoes. I don’t have any hiking boots and I definitely don’t have a mountain bike. Of course, this trip is for business, not for pleasure. However, I’ll have to study the native ‘wildlife' there and closely. Should I find myself living there in the near future, I’ll want to blend in with the locals. What’s great about that is they are usually so casual which is just my style. If I’m lucky, I’ll get to visit and TJ Maxx while I’m out there. Maybe I’ll find some great things to tell you all about!

Our destination is Colorado Springs and the surrounding area for a possible job relocation for my husband. Surely I’ll find a TJ Maxx there! :-D I’m going to look them up before we head out. Wish us luck and may the fashion force be with us!

Sci-Fi Hits the stage. . .
. . . and it's not a pretty sight!

In lieu of all the Emmy fashion, I ran across this little piece and couldn't help myself. I think Janet Jackson has been watching one too many B-Sci-fi flicks!

Vacation
Well, my friends, I was on vacation last week. We went to Seattle, WA and had a great time. I have to say I was on the look out for those odd fashions while there, or to see if there was something new I hadn't seen before. Nothing. Just a bunch of normally dressed people. :)

Now, let’s talk about the plane trip home. We had a short layover in Dallas, TX and had to take one of those trams from one terminal to the next. Wow, do I wish I had my camera! First, there was the nice, older lady who'd stepped onto the tram and she was decked out in pink! Pink jacket, pink shirt, pink pants, pink bag. The lady really liked pink! But not just pink, pink flamingos! She had pink flamingo earrings, pink flamingos on her jacket and pink flamingo shoes. All in all, it was cute if you liked pink flamingos and at least it all matched!

As I turned my head to look at some of the other people I was greeted with a sight straight out of the 80's. A woman with short, spiky punked out hair in black and white, an extra long scarf, also in black and white stripes wound around her neck and falling over her shoulder in front and back. She wore a jean jacket, some sort of dark colored top, skin tight acid washed jeans with zippers on the cuffs and bright pink flats. And folks, I am talking bright pink! I swear I went to school with her back in the day and she was one of the 'cool' people! Then I heard her speak and knew right then she was from a foreign country. I hope, while she's hear, someone introduces her to TJ Maxx! :-D

Anyway, we had a great vacation and it's great to be back. If anyone else would like to share their people watching experiences, I'd love to read them!

I like Raven Symone. I really do! But what is she thinking? Taking her cues from the likes of Shaka Khan and Tori Amos? Is this the new, softer side of Thunderdome? I see a new series of job openings in high demand; Fashion Stylist to the rich and famous! What are your thoughts?

Color Me Brown
Poor Mishca. She needs to fire her clothing stylist and get a new one. Maybe one that shops at TJ Maxx!

Mischa_Splash_080508_502.jpg

Brown is definately not her color and I just can't make out the exact style she is going for here. I think someone should tell her that brown is on it's way out!

Anyone have any ideas? :-D

Bloomers!
Drake_sd1166760_502.jpg

These pants give a new meaning to the word bloomers! In my humble opinion, this poor guy needs a woman to dress him right. He had it going on with the shirt and coat but his momentum got lost somewhere when he put on those pants! :-D

Do you like it or hate it?

How to Fit. . .
It's the height of summer which means all the fall fashions are coming out and school is about to start. I happen to have a child of about 21 months who is going to need a slew of new fall clothes, but I am wondering the best way to fit her. You see, she's cute, adorable and tall for her age. But all that height is in her torso, not her legs. She's somewhere between 18 and 24 months on the top and between 12-18 months on the bottom.

The last time I went to TJ Maxx they had all these adorable little outfits that were sold in two and three pieces. So some pieces would fit and some won't.

Any suggestions? I have seen the diaper pin in the pants before to keep the pants from falling down. And finding a belt to fit her is hard to come by. She is my only child so this is new territory. How to make the clothes fit! :)

I need suggestions!
